truly can't believe i finished this book. i don't believe anyone who says the other two in the series are worth reading after this. the first 10% of this was really good, and then it was just a chaotic, confusing, and bad amalgamation of star wars, the hunger games, and percy jackson (and i'm sure some other popular media that i haven't consumed). just threw everything in there and really didn't make sense. i'm reviewing this 3 months after finishing it and it still makes me upset.

Yes, yes, and yes. Read this book.

Edit: still read this book but it doesn’t deserve to be on level pegging with golden son and morning star.

Addicting

An absolutely addicting book that I couldn’t put down. This is the fastest I’ve read a novel in my life if that tells you anything. Just couldn’t wait to read what was going to happen next. A+ book.

This had me hooked from the get go, I couldn’t get enough! Darrow’s journey was so well thought out. The tension between who he is and who he pretends to be was so well written and continued all the way through to the end.
A lot of heartbreaking choices and violence, perfect for fans of Hunger Games who wanted more action!
