Darker in tone than the first book and not nearly enough mooing cows, but still quite satisfying and funny.

This is humor writing done quite well. The plot is okay. Funny, somewhat predictable, and fast-paced. Good for this type of book. But the humor is not in the plot; it's in the way it's told and the subtleties. Well done, John and Barnett. Well done.

My son Ryan loved the first book so much that we had to read the sequel together too. He loved this one as much as the first, if not more! I loved the sarcasm and wit throughout this book. It was a joy to read!

I read this to my 7 and 10 year old daughters right after reading the first in the series. I didn't like this one quite as much as the first, but it was still a great read. On to the third!

3,5 stars. Some of the characters are way more annoying than the first book. It is still a really fun book series that I will continue!
