I felt that this book was well written, the plot carried along very well, and was well paced. I thought the development of this book was great, and really pushed forward the series. I liked the development of the FMC throughout the book, how she went from one extreme, being frail and withered, to a dominating force to be reckoned with. It really showed how just some care and attention, letting her heal and come into herself was all she needed.
I really hate Tamlin, I cannot believe he locked her up and buried her in the background of life. I hated that he didn't seem to care about her PTSD, her illness when she'd get sick in the bathroom, her grief, and panic. He never extended his hand to her in assistance or showing he ever cared. It was very aggravating and angering that he didn't care about Fayre, just his own agenda.

I really liked how Rhys came into play with this aspect above. I really liked that he was willing to swoop in and assist in helping Fayre. I really liked that he was actually concerned about how withered and withdrawn she looked, that he was enraged on her behalf. I liked that he pushed her to an extent, and let her have her feelings and grief, assisting her in her PTSD and panic, and didn't let her hide. I think he was a perfect match for her that way.

I liked how well Fayre came into herself, a force to be reckoned with, not letting anyone snake past her, hurt her or her new found family. I liked that she protected her bond with Rhys and let him in. I also feel so heartbroken that she had to play the role she did at the end of the book with the King, and that she ended up back with Tamlin, even if it's to destroy him from the inside out.

Too long , could have been shorter with the same effect . Enjoy the premise but dragged out

Holy Moly…… I currently have a hangover from this book. I love this series. I was starting to miss the romance towards the middle, but then I got to chapters 54 and 55 and I am just obsessed. The stakes were higher in this book and I feel like this one is setting up the rest of the series. Definitely one of my top ten books. Feyre had a lot of growth in this book. I love her and Rhysand and the found family. Being in this world is addicting! I LOVE THIS BOOK. I need others to read this near me, so I can nerd out with someone. Team Rhysand.

Definitely a change of pace from the first book- this is super character driven, the focus is def primarily Feyre’s emotional/mental state & relationships. Not for everyone maybe but I liked it a lot! Also I think the romance was well-developed and didn’t feel forced or rushed <3 for sure the highlight of the book for me along with seeing a fantasy female lead truly grapple with trauma, which I feel like gets glossed over sometimes. Pacing is not quite as tight as the first book with the action towards the end feeling a little sudden/an abrupt tone shift/rushed, but it’s not egregious.  Again, nothing groundbreaking w all the tropes used- I found a lot of moments predictable lol- but still really enjoyed reading the execution!

The first third of this book had me so frustrated and upset, but it all came together in the end. The buildup of the romance was so exciting, and I loved getting to know all the characters at the Night Court. There were some lines that were corny, but others were so impactful and made me so emotional. I got misty-eyed a couple times reading this, which I was not expecting at all. The plot also picked up a lot, and I often wondered what would happen next.

also can we just talk about how Rhysand cried when Feyre told him she loved him? It melted my heart completely.

Wow. Emotional rollercoaster from start to finish. Fully fleshed out characters. Amazing.
