This is a gorgeous book devoted to the wonder of the spiral shape in nature. The poem leads us gradually through forests, to animals sleeping, to plants, and into space, encouraging us to find the spirals in the pictures and explaining how the shape is powerful. The colorful scratch art by Beth Krommes ties into the poem in its content and design. This makes a good text for science and language arts integration.

Every page is beautiful. Nice explanation for interested kids at the end.

Yoga storytime!

From the beautiful illustrations to the amazing poems about nature this book is a total hit!

When I started purchasing eBooks for our school library, I tried to think of books that a teacher might want to share that could be better when displayed on a SmartBoard. Using this book with students, you have to be able to show the illustrations. As a former science teacher, I love this marriage of poetry and science. As with many good books, you have to read more than once to fully appreciate it.

Nice. And interesting. With good art and idea. But not especially compelling text. But still good. And could be a family favorite if introduced at the right time. 3.5 of 5.

This is amazing illustrated book with an easy and open-minded knowledge about spiral.
Also thank the voice and the explanation of the youtuber.

The endpapers alone are enough to earn 5 stars!

Gorgeous illustrations and Sidman's poetry. Would be great to add to any collection.

Intriguing concept for a book. There is much more to this book than it appears at first glance. I think the true depth lies in investigating the illustrations to find all of the swirls that the text is referring to.
