I loved reading this so much. This book was spooky and mysterious and I could NOT put it down. The way the author writes scenes and settings makes you feel immersed in the world—like you're actually there. And I love the way she writes feelings, it makes me feel them too. Plotwise, it was amazing. There was a lot of foreshadowing in the book but the author did an excellent job in just letting you know just enough to keep you guessing. It felt like the book sucked me in the waters. Objectively speaking, the ending was good—nice and clean. And the epilogue was also good. But I can't help but feel a tad angry about it but I understand that if things ended the way I wanted it to, it would be very wrong.
But bro it was hella sad, right? I mean, Bo is only loving a ghost where Hazel was. That's a little wrong, right? And looking back, I can't recall the reasons why I think the romance was good, but while reading it I enjoyed it.
But that's pretty much all I have to complain about. I guess some themes that were discussed in here is sexism (witches, duh) how people hate what they don't understand, and how humans are messy and what it means to be one, actually.

This could've beena good--a great read even if only there weren't any
romance between ANY of the Swan sisters and with any human being ever. These sisters who have been killing for around 200 years don't deserve any of that. Among the three, superficially one might find Hazel to be the least vicious sister, however when one looks closer, she's the most dangerous of them all. Because unlike her sisters Marguerite & Aurora, she has grand delusions of herself being the 'good' and 'heroic' one when in fact she's nothing but a two-faced, manipulative person who doesn't deserve any form of redemption, forgiveness or love.

I thought this book was AMAZING. Once I started I couldn't put the book down. I love the characters and plot of the story. I love the idea of how the three sisters who were executed centuries by drowning in the lake would come back each year, known as Swan Season, inhabit the bodies of 3 different girls from the island and convince the boys to come to the lake and drown. Can not wait to read more from Shea Ernshaw.
