I was drawn to this because of its comparison with Daphne du Maurier's Rebecca, but it had nothing to do with it...
Here, we just have a syrupy, utterly predictable romance (not my cup of tea, as you can guess if you're reading this) while Rebecca is so much more!
I totally hated one of the main characters, Julia, who, in my opinion, is a selfish whiner. I didn't understand why she had to crawl back to her bedroom after taking medicine for her bout of flu... Have you ever had to crawl because you had the flu? Me neither! I suffered various bouts of flu during my life, and even got Covid (despite the vaccine) and never crawled in my own house... Not even with a sprained ankle. But then, I guess musical geniuses are fragile little things, or at least, that's how they have to appear in this type of novels.

Liked the interwoven lives of the characters, some of the story a little hard to believe.

Such an incredible book, the storyline is so cleverly written, with mini stories throughout. Was difficult to put down and I didn't want the book to end. A real rollercoaster of emotions including several laugh out loud moments.
