it's definitely not a bad book I enjoyed it most of the time but I wasn't really hooked. there's no emotional connection to any of the characters and some plot lines seemed a bit cliché in my opinion. i loved the burning girls by the same author but this one just didn't quite fit my taste, especially because it wasn't really creepy or exciting. i gave it 3.75 but i'm correcting it to 3.5 now.

The whole plot I was not very invested and the conclusion was disappointing. I liked Chalk Man but this one did not come nowhere near the intrigue and plot twists as that one. For some reason I got completely different book than what I thought it was going to be, unfortunately.

CJ Tudor does very good at creating the same atmosphere as Stephen King she mentions as the author that's inspiring to her... down right to the weird takes and unnecessarily offensive shit. I can take it, but the *and they were autistic* 🤯  characters for not particular reason, just to show that you are ignorant as hell is just stupid.

This one was not my favourite book by this author - I didn’t really enjoy it. I’m not sure if it’s just me or the way it was written but I found it both predictable and confusing.

It’s a very slow read as well, it takes quite a while before anything actually happens.

I’m actually quite disappointed as i’ve loved previous books i’ve read by this author!
