Cute rom-com with monsters. I found the dichotomy between the FMC's morally ambiguous past and the author's constant assurances of consent and respect to be a little annoying. It was an odd mix of a semi-spicy storyline, a morally gray FMC and an anxious golden retriever MMC. Overall it was enjoyable, the story had some funny side bits and the chemistry and banter between characters was entertaining.

Very fun, light read. A little note on anxiety, on anger, and on love. I love when two characters truly bring out the best in each other, protect each other, and cherish each other. When that “my mate” dropped??? Swoon. I loved the individual character progression and the path they followed towards each other and ultimately, love.

While this book was by no means bad, it was a bit of a let down, especially as a last book in the series. Ben’s character gave me the ick for at least the first 50% of the book which is not what we want for the MMC but besides that, nothing really happens…

There was so much focus on Ben’s sister that the main plot took up so little time and was resolved in a few pages at the end. It was so anticlimactic and even the epilogue revolved around it. The only character I liked was Eleanore, but only when she wasn’t around Ben because he annoyed me so much

Eleonore Bettencourt-Devereux you will always be famous to me. I love you so much with your bluntness, your weapon wearing, and your chaotic nature. Ben Rosewood, you have done wonders in the fight against toxic masculinity, you are an icon for that.
