I didn’t have hopes because we didn’t really know Ben in the first books but I could not put this down! I couldn’t stop laughing either. Sarah Hawley books are a must read!

I went into this book expecting a story about Themmie, so I was a little surprised when it turned out to be about Ben instead. At first, it threw me off, but it didn’t take long for Ben to completely win me over. He’s such a lovable character—kind, a little awkward, and dealing with anxiety in a way that felt very real and relatable. His passion for his plant shop and his determination to live life on his own terms made him such a compelling protagonist.

Ben Rosewood, our cinnamon-roll werewolf with a thriving plant business and a solid amount of anxiety, accidentally buys a possessed crystal on eBay for ninety-nine cents—because obviously, that’s what you do when you’re slightly drunk and have questionable impulse control.
Eleanora, on the other hand, is a force of nature—elegant, powerful, and rightfully furious about being trapped in a crystal for centuries. Her dynamic with Ben is what really makes this book shine. There’s tension, humor, and an undeniable chemistry between them, but what I loved most was how their relationship developed naturally. Even with their magical bond forcing them together, they take the time to truly understand and care for one another, which made their romance feel all the more genuine.

The story itself strikes a great balance between fun and heartfelt moments. There’s plenty of humor, some exciting action, and, of course, some well-written steamy scenes—but they never take over the story. Instead, the focus remains on Ben and Eleanora’s growing relationship, which made everything feel more meaningful.

This book was such a refreshing read, especially after reading a lot of darker stories lately. It has just the right mix of romance, humor, and supernatural elements to keep things engaging, and I found myself smiling more than once while reading.

I really liked this book. I couldn't stop reading it and have had two late nights in a row because I couldn't put it down.

The first two books in this series felt very similar to one another, but this was very different from the other two.
