This is one of the worst books ive ever read. Its horrible. I felt so uncomfortable reading it. It was cringy at every turn. The characters were one dimensional, the dialogue felt forced, and the pacing was off. There were too many things going on and no one part of the story felt like the main plot. It seems like the author forgot about Eleanor’s curse until the last 100 pages and had to haphazardly cobble it together. Also the characters didn’t have good chemistry and their romance felt rushed even in a >400 pages book. Lines regularly made me recoil with how cringy or unnecessarily vulgar they were (please stop talking about testicles). The use of modern fantasy was a bad choice, and i know that was the whole plot but it was bad. There were way too many species and the way they were integrated into modern life was weird and almost childish. Any point that i laughed when reading this was when i was laughing at it not with it. It’s only redeeming qualities is that there is a few paragraphs that are sexy and you can laugh at it and complain about it. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

This book is not to my typical reading taste, but it is an overall enjoyable reading experience. The main cast of characters are lovable and flawed and the overall representation of mental health was true to my personal experience. I appreciate how emotionally aware the characters become throughout the story.

It was ridiculous and light. The male love interest, Ben, was desperate, rather pathetic, lacked confidence and those are never attractive qualities. There were a few laughs, but the book really started to drag in at the end.

This was my favorite in the glimmer falls series! I loved Ben and Eleonore and their relationship, and I felt that Eleonore’s journey was well rounded and I was invested in her.
