I absolutely loved this! Oh the tension between these two! They want to be together, get jealous of others, but wonβt fully allow themselves the happiness they would experience being together.

Well, sugar honey iced tea! Trish is the sweetest, sassiest southern belle you've ever met in a book who is hiding a secret that's finally brought to light when a private investigator turns up at her door when a friend is staying at her house. With her friend asking questions and her past catching up to her, Trish decides she needs to skip town right after another friend's wedding. But there's a guy who gets in the way. Trish is trying not to catch feelings for Ian when she needs a place to stay until the wedding is over. What happens when her past catches up to her before she can skip town?
I didn't get that great of an impression of Ian in the first book, but I loved him in this one. And then I hated him. And now I think he's my favorite guy I've met in this series so far. Trish is adorable. I picked up the idea she was hiding from something in the previous books, but there really weren't any hints at what it was. And then she is hiding something else, which made me happy for her once she revealed what it was. Trish and Ian make a super cute couple, and I love how they compliment each other. I was also glad Lee Samuels and Samantha Brentmoor continues on with the series, and kudos to Samantha Brentmoor for keeping up with that Trish voice!
THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU IF: You're a fan of sassy southern belles and guys who need to break out of the mold their parents want them to be in.

Sara freaking does it again. I laugh, I tear up, I gasp, and I learn things about NASA and math. We've been teased with the mystery of Trish for a few books now, and we know from the moment Ian set eyes on her he wanted her. This is their story, and oh boy is it FANTASTIC.
Trish knows that her time is running out here, and that she'll be forced to leave behind the best friends she's made in a long time. Ian is desperate to make up for an unintentional offense and get Trish to look his way again. They are so obviously and stupidly attracted to each other it's almost funny. Every time the others call them out on their lack of subtlety and their responding shock is hilarious. It ends up that her running schemes get a little out of her control and Trish needs a place to park her trailer; that means Trish moves in with Ian for a few weeks until she can run away again. A few weeks is all it will take for these two to light on fire.
Ian has a much more complicated history than I expected, and there are a couple questions about his past that I don't think were fully explained, but also don't take away from the plot resolution. The Ian we've seen before is a smooth, controlled, rich man. The Ian we get to see in this book has humor, insecurity, weakness, and a well of emotion that he wants to release. I wanted to take a bite out of him.
I loved seeing his friendship with Jules. In the previous books, the friendships haven't crossed the gender lines much, and the way the two of them get along when they are so different was really fun.
Ian and Trish are both so lonely, the things they give to each other run so deep so fast. Trish's backstory and what she's running from were unexpected. I often felt what Ian did, which was the need to shake her and have her give in. The reason she doesn't want to leave is because she's finally got people to lean on, yet refuses to lean! There is a lot to overcome, and a lot of really crappy people interfering with their happiness both together and individually, and you hurt for them. However, Trish is so sweet, and secretly VERY spicy which made it a very fun book to read.
This book cracked me up. The humor is similar to the previous books with banter all over the place, math jokes, short jokes, and basically Rose running wild and Jules being surprising. Jackie has perhaps one of the best and funniest doses of truth to Trish. I mean, there's also saving by pole tricks, an unexpected emotional support animal, great descriptions of fake boobs on a bitchy woman, and a very angry rant about store bought cookies. I was laughing every few pages.
Space Oddities is also quite meta. Talking about romance tropes, expectations shaped around those tropes, and assumptions being made about the genders based on stereotypes. It was just an extra layer that made me smile. Once again, I learned things while reading this.
I wish I could remember how I ran into this series because they are so much fun, and I rec them to all my fellow nerds. It's got NASA and math and really hot guys who worship their women. While Space Oddities can be read as a standalone, I really really beg you to read them all.

Oh Ian and Trish were honestly just too perfect for words. From the outside looking in, they seemed like an unlikely and impossible match but in reality they truly just fit. I loved Trish with her fierce independence. Ian with his tenacity. Together these two had a spark that flared hot. I loved the journey to see these two evolve individually and then as a couple. Every minute of their story was one I thoroughly enjoyed and didnβt want to see end!
73/100
It was enjoyable and I liked it enough to read the rest of the series
Characters: 76/100
Plot: 70/100
The plot didn't really stick out to me. It didn't really have me in suspense or doubting the outcome and I didn't really care that much.
I liked how Ian went to therapy even though I was surprised how much the therapist spelt everything out for Ian and how quickly it happened. It is pretty rare to see therapy discussed in a romance novel like this and that in itself gives it props. It's also rare that I like the male lead more than I like the female lead, but it did frustrate me how much Trish avoided talking about her past. The female friendships were definitely my favorite part of this book. I really disliked the entire party conflict like she knew going in that Ian's dad was going to try to set him up with someone and that he didn't want that and he immediately explained it all, but she literally didn't listen.
