This wasn’t bad but it also wasn’t Pulitzer Prize worthy. It definitely screams YA from start to finish which I realize means this is written for a much younger audience. Some parts were great, others (like the dialogue) was a little bit wince inducing / cringey. I did like the representation in terms of diversity within the student population but some situations could have been handled better (I’m talking about the last third portion of the book.) I do wish bisexuality /pansexual had been considered and not just straight vs gay when it came to labeling people’s identities. This would be suited for older teens since there is no sexual content - just kissing between the two main male characters.
