One of the most creative and a well written story with powerful messages I have ever read. When I read it at a young age the plot of the story did not click. As I have grown up I have realised the sad truth of the ending of this book. I choose to ignore my adult brain and believe he is laughing on the planet with his rose. It truly makes me appreciate my childhood and the imaginative stories and questions I asked. This book is one of my favourites.

Read for Book Roast's Magical Readathon: NEWTs Exams. Subject: Ancient Runes, O Level. (Translated from other Language)

One runs the risk of weeping a little, if one lets himself be tamed.

I am sad to report that I am too much of a grown up to enjoy this very sweet little book. I get the charm of it, and the deeper meaning, but it...kind of left me cold.

I acknowledge this makes me a monster, and I will see myself out.

A cute little story about the power of imagination. The ending felt pretty dark, but maybe that's just my grown-upness getting in the way
