This was amusing and all, but I didn’t even think to check if the books were standalone, and this needed a better editor and proofreader too badly for me to read established relationship. Entertaining though.

It pains me to only give this 3.5 stars, but considering how bad the editing was here, I can’t justify giving it a full 4 stars. It seemed like every page or two had something, either missing words, wrong words, character names in places where the character wasn’t. I saw at least two instances of name swappage.

The story, on the other hand, has good. Definite Ty&Zane vibes, for so if you liked them, you’ll enjoy this.

The storyline was interesting until it devolved into page after page of sex, with very little storyline. Started maybe around the 50% mark (of course) and hasn't let up (currently at 75%). Really close to DNFing. Others have enjoyed it, so basically, this is just not a book for me.

(I read the new extended version and decided to rate this older one because I'm not sure I'll read the short story... or continue with the series... not that it was bad but the ending was a bit too open. I wouldn't mind a cliffhanger actually lol. Plus the first 30 % were a bit hard to get through.).

This was a really great romance. I loved the relationship development. Mainly the growing affection and possessivenes of both men.
What I found lacking was the mystery plot. I mean. Our guys do some reckless decisions that pose threat to innocent people and I was thining that they could've avoided that. I mean, they are assassins for frick's sake. They should be way more stealthy and sneaky.
And the mystery was actually pretty simple and just dragged on. The guys just waited for two weeks for some hacking to finish and then they finally do their thing...
So that was my only disappointment. The action scenes were really great and suspenseful. The romance was so good and the smut was top tier. Like meltingly top tier. Wow.

some tropes:
grumpy/sunshine
alpha males
forced proximity
mutual protectiveness
fake boyfriends
hurt/comfort
versatile couple

Good story. Multiple typos and editing issues.
