Having a hard time eating this one. On the one hand, it was extremely disturbing and I’m not sure it rang true. On the other hand, the writing is very good and clearly moved me. Tough to get through but tough to put down.

I thought this book was really good!! honestly the only complaint is how fast paced it was, it felt like a lot of events in the book were glossed over and the heavier themes such as s.a. and suicide weren’t written as well as they should have been. other than that it was a really good book!

This was an interesting character study of what it’s like to be a young woman within a religious cult. I thought the empathy that the writer endows Lacey with as she stumbles towards the truth was admirable, as she deprograms herself with the help from unlikely places and prepares for motherhood.
