Cute, fast holiday read. Despite it being a novella, the love didn't feel instant since they'd known each other for years. I was also happy the story didnt end with an engagement (unless you read the bonus epilogue), wedding, or pregnancy. It helped the story not feel like insta-love. Didn't really like the grandma forcing people to do her bidding using her health as a hostage. Winston was cute. I liked the author adding doggie ramps to the story because they are important for dachshunds, haha.

- age gap brothers little sister trope, yes please
- love that Brooks was able to fall in love with Christmas again and find the holiday spirit
- I was so sad for Kay. She lost her son too, and it’s sad all the Claus boys stayed away and didn’t visit her more often
- the romance was cute, though a little hard to believe at times especially for who Brooks was.
- the pacing was great. Lila and Brook had great chemistry, and despite the years apart, that connection was still there
- who doesn’t love a medaling grandmother
