I will say that this book surprised me. It felt like the reveal should have been something I saw coming from a mile away, but that wasn't the case. It kept my interest throughout. I'm not mad at it.
The words "Russian doll", had to have been on every page. Every. Single. Page.
This was just overall such a dud. The constant theme seems to be that Behind Closed Doors, was her best book and every book after that seems to get worse and worse.

Spodziewałam się czegoś lepszego po tej autorce. Książka całkiem dobrze trzymała mnie w napięciu, ale tylko do połowy, kiedy nagle wszystkie tajemnice się rozwiązały (tak myślałam), napięcie opadło i długo nic się nie działo. Bohaterowie okropnie mnie wkurzali, z resztą mało było w nich głębi i właściwie mogłam się tylko domyślać, czemu są tacy, jacy są. Zakończenie ostatecznie mnie zaskoczyło, nie udało mi się go przewidzieć, co w moim przypadku zdarza się dość często, jeśli chodzi o kryminały. Ale pomimo tego zaskoczenia, książka nie za bardzo mi się podobała. Nie polecam.
I had to dock points because I figured the ending out about a hundred pages prior; but credit where credit’s due, B.A. Paris can write a well-paced thriller.
Behind Closed Doors this story is not, however it was still gripping and fun to read. I always have a soft spot for books where the main character is unlikeable - I have respect for any author who can write with their voice for so long.

While the premise sounded extremely interesting, the execution was rather boring. The plot twist was both super far fetched and simultaneously extremely predictable. Quite a disappointing read.

I don't know what to think of BA. Sometimes I love her and sometimes I don't. This was unfortunately a "don't". It was all I could do to get through this book. I was so bored by all of the characters and found them lacking a whit of common sense. The big twist left me rolling my eyes that the author would think it were at all plausible. I can suspend reality in a novel as long as the book has been exciting, but this one just really fell flat for me.
