This was an extremely well paced and brilliant story. That I was truly excited to read. As I've been intrigued by Ward 'King' Kingston ever since I started reading these books. But especially after finding out what happed to him personally whilst in Syria with his team, and what he did for them when they got back to the US. Although I must admit to being dubious about him and Leo. But they actually really complemented each other and the way their relationship developed was endearing, and lovely to read.

Plus, the story had action, and a little suspense. Not to mention plenty of interaction with the other guys from Kings team. Which I loved, particularly when it came to Ace. Who had some wonderful heart to hearts with King as he contended with his feelings for Leo, and as for Leo, he was a wonderfully geeky yet strong character. Who found himself in a tough situation. Yet in the end, he didn't cower and I admired that.

As for the epilogue, I thought it was a lovely way to round off the series and I'm glad to see there will be a spin off series, featuring Joker and Jack.

As for Diamond in the Rough I would happily recommend it to others.

Leo was an amazing character and I loved seeing different sides od King. Amazing was how the whole family managed to accept Leo and tried to understand him.

amazing!! loved the characters and the plot.
big “touch him and you die” vibes.
the fighting scenes were absolutely unrealistic but i honestly don’t care so it didn’t bother me.
the chapters are really long and that’s annoying but that’s a me thing.
(please don’t mind this awful review but i’m sleep deprived and i need to get things done lmao)

Explosive drama and romance. Yes please and thank you! Absolutely my favourite from the series, with such an unexpected pairing. King was always going to be a tough cookie to crack (emotionally) but I adore that smart and distracted Leo was able to do it effortlessly.

I have hope that Joker and Jack get a book, just so I can get more of the Kings.

WOW! Holy cow what a fantastic story! King finally meets his match in Leo and you couldn't read a more adorable man. They bring out the best and stand up for each other when needed.
Though the circumstances that they meet are a little unorthodox, it's a great plot line. Top secret facility, super secret project with the possibility of bringing down any country that it's used on. Leo has the most intelligent mind and Charlie writes him so very well. He's endearing, smart, funny, and his appreciation of King is hot! King is brought to his knees by Leo and you get the chance to see inside the hard shell that he's been protecting himself with.
We have all of our favourite Kings with their partners, supporting, joking and saving each other just like they've been doing for this whole series. The plot is engaging and keeps you entertained and guessing, the characters are easily lovable and my attention was held throughout the whole book, needing to read it in one sitting.
I cannot recommend this book and series enough. For the very first chapter, I've loved everything that Charlie Cochet has given us, ending with the best HEA for my favourite King <3
I received an ARC and am happily writing a review.
