I love SNL send ups and I love romantic comedies and I love folks wondering about their behaviors and I love partners choosing each other and that sometimes looking/feeling/being incorrect.

Also, this was my first commit to a pandemic plot line and I found it was, for me, the right tone AND mood.

yeah yeah, curtis sittenfeld loves white liberal women but my comfort genre is smart, funny yet flawed white women do stupid things and we watch them do it in real time so i had a hell of a time. it's persuasion coded and that got me GOOD. read it in a day. i'll read just about anything curtis writes

I thought this book was so intriguing and quite delightful. A romantic comedy set during the early days of the covid pandemic , talking about addiction, parental estrangement, parental death, covid, and other serious topics, but it coalesced together in this really beautiful meaningful way.

It was not explicitly spicy, just a bit of non detailed spice alluded to here and there.

Love an emotionally mature male protagonist, love the anxious writer lady figuring things out. Really, enjoyed it. It was funny but also had a lot of depth.

Captured a moment in time very well too I think.
