This was cute but I did roll my eyes quite a bit. Everything just ended up perfectly which was a bit nauseating, to be honest. And parts were just over the top. The narrator was great and it was fun and plenty steamy! I don't really care for slow burn though.

I I enjoyed the first book immensely, however, I loved this book, Hannah and Fox may be my new favourite couple. It’s just the way that they communicated with each other, and the way that Hannah gave Fox space to work through his issues, instead of getting angry at him for not doing what she wanted, which I have read before and it really annoyed me; but also the way they communicate with each other, I think that this is a really important depiction of a healthy relationship. And the fact that although there was some third act conflict, I didn’t really feel like conflict, like in the characters minds they were still together so I didn’t find myself getting annoyed at the characters, it was a needed development within the plot. So, I don’t even know how to put into words how much I enjoyed this book. I was only about halfway through when I knew this was a five star read. And I don’t usually enjoy slow burns because I’m impatient, but this was just a masterpiece. So now I’m going to go and binge read Tessa Baileys works because I’m obsessed.

For me, it didn't really hit as hard as It Happened One Summer. I really liked the characters and I loved their chemistry, but I found myself dissatisfied with the plot points and progression.

As with It Happened One Summer, I enjoyed this book, possibly even more.

What I liked

I loved the third act breakup and the resolution in this book. Hannah saw right through Fox and gave him space even though she was hurt but I loved that she straight up refused to break up.
The pace in which Fox opened up to Hannah felt really natural and believable, I love how he let her in more and more.
I just found both of them so lovable in their own way, like you just wanted to give them both a big hug.
Westport as a setting is as great as in the last book.
This book felt a lot less possessive than IHOS which I liked more.

What I didn't like
Edit: So after some time and thought and discussion and rereading some scenes I had to edit my review because in hindsight the book somehow gives me some ick. I can't name the reason a hundred per cent but part of it is that they can be in a heart to heart one second and literally the second after that they are in the middle of pretty possessive dirty talk which just seems wrong. Also why would he ask her if she was a virgin out of nowhere? And I fell like the author attempted some sort of consent discussion but failed to do it properly because he literally says “If you want to say no, we’ll stop. I’ve gotten pretty fucking good at waiting for you.” which is kinda asking for consent but also kinda not.
