I knew this book was friends to lovers, but since reading the first one I had forgotten about Fox’s main plot point being that he’s a manwhore. Seeing him unpack that especially with the help of Hannah was so interesting & well done. Not something I’ve ever had be a main plot point in a book I’ve read. That was probably my favorite part of the book.

Friends to Lovers, Mutual Pining, Kind of Fake Dating, 3 🔥

I loved this book it was so cute i loved the little epilogue to Fox and Hannah were so cute and do not let this innocent little cover fool you this book is spicy and the male main character is spicy my lord the mouth on him and the looks from him i kept kicking my feet and giggling every time Fox got jealous of even the mention of Sergei i also loved every scene with Fox and Hannah together i love the whole Bellingers sisters series fisherman vibe after this series I definitely will be looking for more ocean related romance books this book was friends to lovers,Forced proximity,Small town romance and Slow burn its also a happy ending with no cliffhangers and this book is in a series the first book is called It happened one summer these books do not have to be read in order but i highly recommend reading them in order because this book has the main characters in the first book in the epilogue and throughout the book so it’s Kind’ve a spoiler but it can be read in any order it also has no love triangle and no cheating between the main characters overall i rated this book 4 stars⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I find it hard to take Tessa Bailey seriously when she describes everything a man does with the word “male.” Something about it just puts me off. I know I shouldn’t be trying to take a romance novel seriously but even for romance novel standards it’s a bit much. I’m so used to histroms maybe I need to stay in my lane. I actually was imagining that this would be my wheelhouse, I mean the modern equivalent of a reformed rake is basically shouting my name. Thank god Hannah and Fox are so much more likable to me than Piper and Brendan because the trope still has me in a chokehold no matter the timeline. Hannah strikes me as more sympathetic and Fox’s complicated relationship with his sexuality is something I never thought I’d relate to. Everything about his honestly and complexity hits home. You never see that in novels with this type of trope. It’s usually about reforming the behavior and meeting a woman you actually love, not about finding the root and discussing it. Hannah is an absolute angel and I love her. She’s a fucking genius. No matter what Fox throws at her she never takes the stupid meek MC route that leads to misunderstandings. Nope. She just faces everything head on. Thank god for that or this book would be unreadable.

I do love a good romance, especially one that gives the og supporting characters substance.  Is it predictable? Yes. Is it cheesy? Also yes. Will you love it? Absolutely.

Sweet. Sentimental. Not a lot of spice but the parts that are spicy are exceptionally well written. Grumpy sunshine meets friends to lovers meets taboo sexual encounter. Exactly what you want a romcom novel to be.
