Definitely left the ending open for more books 👀
Shipped the main characters so hard but I'm thinking they're both straight, unfortunately.

The book is written from different perspectives, which was a first for me, but after a couple of chapters I got used to it.

The beginning of the book really focused on high school drama, which I didn't really connect with, but once the mystery started going and they started solving the murder it really picked up pace and there were some unexpected plot twists at the end.

The content of the book are in a mixed media format and I sometimes had trouble following  the group texts with more than two people.  I liked that every chapter from Alice's perspective started with a Agatha Christie, which was really in character and sometimes even relevant to the story.

The stories of Agatha Christie only played a minor role in this story, but I think she would've enjoyed reading this one.

I really had a hard time putting this book down. I haven‘t read a crime story in quite some time and this one really reeled me in. I liked the two main characters, Iris and Alice, and how their personal problems got interwoven in the story.

Something I especially enjoyed was how the story took you from suspecting one character to the next and to the next. I was trying to piece everything together but I was
so convinced Coach did it, I never would‘ve suspected Ms Westmacott.

A gripping story, with some fun but also some deep parts! Perfect kick-off for spooky season reads!

That, my friends, is how you write a YA thriller/mystery! This is everything I wanted A Good Girls Guide to Murder to be and more (for the record, didn’t hate that book, but this was much better). Glasgow and Lawson have me wanting to give Agatha Christie’s books a try and also wrote a 400 page book I tore through in 2 days. Two. Days. Really enjoyed the twists and turns and the two main characters. The only minor criticism I had was that both MCs had very similar “voices”, so it was easy to be confused as to whose perspective I was in mid chapter. But it wasn’t enough to knock off a star for me. All in all, a solid, page turning novel! And the ending makes it seem like it’s maybe setup for a sequel?! I would be happy with that!

That was a fun read. Loved the two protagonists and their interactions a lot. A little sad the side characters in the friends group were not equally fleshed out, there is definitely potential for future installments though. The same applies to the plot. It wasn't anything special, just a messy murder investigation. I liked some fresh approaches to the amateur investigation methods, but in the end, there wasn't enough of it for my taste. And it was pretty obvious to me who the murderer was, so... yeah. But I loved the writing. Not only the way Alice's and Iris' friendship progressed, but also the use of social media. It was really well done.

I really enjoyed this book! I'm working my way through Agatha Christie's work so this was extra fun. I didn't figure out the who-dun-it until later in the book, which is always a plus. I appreciate the domestic abuse part of the book as well. It added another layer to the book as did Alice's disappearance mystery. I also loved most of the characters. I really hope that there's a sequel, as the ending seemed open to that!
