This book was great. I love this series. Kim Harrison did a great job with Rachel Morgan. I love Jenks' character too. In this book the underlining tension between her and Ivy peaks and er relationship with Nick finally comes to a very explosive ending.

Plot: Rachel Morgan is a witch and bounty hunter. At the beginning of the series she is a white-earth witch but by the time this book comes along she has started using demon magic making her a black-witch. With her new reputation as a dark arts user she has got demons that want her as their familiar, vampires want to bed her, and most everything else wants to kill her. One of her human lovers gets kidnapped by a team of werewolves because of something he has and she does everything in her power to get him back. But his past comes to bite her in the ass literally.

God if you've read the previous books I don't need to go into the characters. I love the well developed characters in this series. Even the characters with hardly any part are so well developed its fun just to read these books to watch what Rachel and her band of misfits are going to get dragged into next and how they will deal with it. I can't wait to read the next book.

This book was entertaining but had some seriously annoying moments - basically the same things that have bugged me every book so far. Overall, the good outweighs the bad and I'm looking forward to the next book.

Jenks
Spoilerhell to the yes for big Jenks!

I love him and his sweet & salty friendship with Rachel, his adorable wife and his 54 (or whatever) kids. He has to live forever!

Nick
SpoilerGo away. I can't believe what he has been up to with demons and stealing and ugh, he's so lame. Even worse than a unapologetic jerk is the apologetic jerk who won't change. He has so nerve to say he loves Rachel repeatedly and continue to scam her.

The best part was how everyone called him "crap for brains" and that Rachel ended up outsmarting him (maybe, we have yet to see if that was wise).

Ivy
SpoilerI'm so annoyed by her drama with Rachel. I thought things seemed ok at the start of this book and I was like yay, because I really like female mains having strong female friendships. Sigh, but as usual they escalate at the worst moment possible.

This time it is Rachel's fault to be honest and she does take the blame - but of course takes the blame for the entire history of this bloodlust issue between her and Ivy which is absurd.

Kisten
SpoilerI do like him but really there isn't a future there. I mean all that Pescary nonsense plus him being a vampire, Ivy’s ex & bff, etc.

Rachel
SpoilerI waver between rooting for you to wanting to strangle you. Stop putting yourself in dumb situations! Honestly

However, overall I do like her, she cares about others and doing the right thing.

The weakest of the series so far in my opinion.
The beginning was hilarious and awesome and the ending was a thrill, but I was really annoyed and bored by everything in between.
