The vocabularies aren’t hard, they describe the situation just fine but idk something about their writing style makes it hard to understand and imagine the story. The less pages the stories have, the better circumstances to understand what they’re trying to say. I think out of many short stories in this book, max. only 5 that I could understand precisely. And I’m sure love open ending but some stories just feel like it left unfinished.

I was not prepared for how dark and jarring this book would be. I thought it would be a collection of emotional short stories and they were emotional but just not in the way that I expected.

I'm stating the obvious here but this is a depressing collection of beautifully strung sentences. I felt so maudlin after each story--as if happy moments in life are more rare than live dinosaurs.

los primeros tres cuentos son un poco meh para mi pero el resto del libro levanta muchísimo, culminando en cuentos como tanta agua tan cerca de casa, que hablamos cuando hablamos de amor, bolsas, dile a las mujeres que nos vamos, entre otros que también son espectaculares. se nota lo influyente que fue craver especialmente en norteamerica porque me hace acordar a otros relatos tétricos de otros autores. influyente, consciso, fascinante, atrapante, y perturbador. me fascinó
