This wasn't as good as Senlin Ascends but I definitely speed through it, I couldn't put it down. Towards the middle I had my doubts of picking up the next one, but damn Josiah Bancroft really pulled me back with that last paragraph oh the book. I need to know what the heck happened to Marya since her arrival in Pelphia like yesterday.

This book opens things up to a much larger world than the first. Some of the descriptions were a little abstract for me, id love an illustrated edition. Overall a decent continuation to that i call "the national treasure of fantasy books"

The beginning was a bit slow, but by the end I was like HOLY SHIT THIS BOOK THIS SERIES AND WHAAAAAAT. And I read the first chapter of the third book without even stopping to catch my breath. Whaaaaaaat.

Because Senlin is an idiot and Edith is everything. THE END.

The second volume goes deeper in the fantasy and the crazy, and I’m here for it. Lovely to get varied points of view from all the new characters, and Senlin goes through major character changes. Overall, stronger than the first book and I’m itching to read the rest!
