There is so much teachers could do with this book! Rhymes, unmixing letters, creating poems, puns, etc. Beautifully illustrated, featuring a brown-skinned main character.

Many thanks to Netgalley and Kids Can Press for providing me with this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a well put, beautiful, colorful, cute story.
The art just shines, I loved it so much. The story and poetry were cute as well, But the art work was the main protagonist.

Well done.

Thank you so much, NetGalley, and the publisher for providing me an ARC of this cute and beautiful book.

I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK TO BITS. It's cute yet very heartwarming. It was indeed a charming book allegory and was written beautifully. I'm beyond delighted to have read such an amazing and well-crafted masterpiece.

The poems are very inspiring and exciting upon reading them. And the illustrations? IT WAS SO AMAZING AND BEAUTIFUL. It was just a book which I would love to recommend to everyone because we need this book in our life. Age doesn't matter. It's you who really matters.

I enjoyed everything. I'm satisfied with this book even it was such a short one. The adventure was really cute and admiring. Hence, I rated it 5 stars because everything was done beautifully. In other words, another great and amazing book added to my favorite reads which everyone should read.

Poem in My Pocket, by Chris Tougas and illustrated by Josée Bisaillon, is a charming and fun picture book for young readers, exploring language and the creative writing process. The playful rhyming language of the text is well-matched by the whimsical art, which includes visual wordplay as well, with cute details like bees shaped like b-eautiful Bs, and written words spilling out of pockets, flying on the breeze, and melting away into puddles. The final image is a beautiful poetic pun, adorably wrapping up a book that will surely make a delightful story-time readaloud with kids who love playing with language!

Thank you to NetGalley and Kids Can Press for the advance review copy!

As a mom and former preschool teacher, I think this story would be a great way to introduce poetry and rhyme to a young child. The illustrations are captivating and will definitely help hold a young child’s attention. I really liked the flow of the story and how there were little puns/wordplays to make it fun.
My only criticism is that there were a few pages that seemed to just focus on the puns/wordplays without having the story continue. I am not sure if that is how the book in intended or if that is just the way the download worked out.

Overall, I would purchase this book for my children to help with rhyming and for a beginning lesson in poetry.
