Man this had me wanting to fight Elliots family (minus Nan for obvious reasons). Over-givers prepare to be triggered.
I love Anise's books. They're cozy and sweet and always leave me with a smile on my face. Dane and Elliot were really cute. You could really feel their chemistry when they first met even though it was an insta-crush.
It was nice to see the other two couples since I think this was the final farewell for this universe.
A perfect, safe read for when you want something a bit gushy with low drama. Thanks so much Anise and team for the ARC!

Unique concept for a romance novel! ((May the universe never curse me with this problem))
3.5* This was a quick read. I quite enjoyed it. This is the first book I have read by the Author. I was pleasantly surprised that this black romance is set in the UK. This is my first black UK romance. I loved that. I enjoyed that the author discussed the first-born daughter trauma, being the first-born daughter myself, I could relate to Eliott's character. Dane was a wonderfully patient love interest. I liked that they built a friendship first. The only downside was the fact that Eliott never confronted her siblings and mother about their financial and emotional abuse, I wanted to see her put an end to their selfishness. Lastly, this book's grammatical errors were glaring and might be off-putting to some readers.

And just like that Anise has done it again. Dane and Elliot’s story was something I didn’t know what to expect when I knew the 3rd book would focus on him. The first two books in the series we briefly meet Dane but we only know he isn’t a guy who settles. He just likes to have fun and is Bailey’s older brother.
But getting to see him find love and a true love like no other was beautiful to read. After being heartbroken multiple times (them girls were trifling) Dane rids himself of the idea of ever finding love let alone getting married. Elliot and him have an encounter 2 years prior to her being booked for Bailey’s engagement party and eventually wedding. Meeting each other again starts off shaky as they left things very awkward 2 years prior. But Dane is determined to find out why and along the way their spark is reignited.
I didn’t expect to fall in love with these two as I didn’t know what to expect from Dane’s love life. But I enjoyed it and parts of the book tugged at my heart (as seen by my highlights). Elliot having a no second chance rule with guys she hooked up with sets Dane in the friend category. Yet the two are magnets and while neither want to admit the evident, they grow to become wonderful friends. Elliot holding the stress/burden of her family on her shoulders being the eldest, she really never puts herself first. Dane is there to comfort her in the earliest stages of their friendship. He remembers all the details she told him about herself 2 years ago. Which I think speaks volumes about how much she caught his interest. It was beyond just a hook up. She never left his mind and vice versa.
As Elliot said to Dane she loves to capture the quiet moments, the ones no one thinks about, Dane does that for her. He notices the smallest details about her and is so engulfed in her passions, her likes, her being. Mans was head over heels and fell hard. He also didn’t push her boundaries as much as he wanted more. He was ok being friends as long as it meant he wouldn’t lose Elliot.

One of my favorite series. It was nice to see Dane fall in love and not even know it. I adored the way the relationship was built and the bond they created. It was beautifully done.
loved it!
Okay, I was a little nervous in the beginning but I ended up loving this story. Dane & Eliott were so beautiful together!
