It was okay. Not my type of book. Probably won't be able reading anything else by her.

3.5 stars. I was obsessed with this series in 10th grade, and I’m excited to see how it holds up. This was great, but I kind of wish there was more??? It’s a super easy read though which is great bc I’ve been in a reading slump.

I found this book sitting in the book stores multiple times when I was back in high school, but for some reason I think I found the cover intimidating, too dark for my innocent nature. I recently gave it a go, and I have to say that this book paints an accurate picture of a young girl getting lost in the drug world. It's fast paced, but covers every detail; the moods, the loss of relationships, the consequences both physically and with the law. I'm not a huge fan of young adult books, but this happens to be the first one I've read since I was a teen that I actually found interesting.

I'm very surprised with how much I ended up enjoying this book. It was intense and fast paced. I'm not entirely sure how I feel about it being written it verse, it made it a bit confusing at times and I don't feel it really added anything to the story. But because it is written in verse it is incredibly easy to read.
All in all I enjoyed this book and plan on reading more of Ellen Hopkins books.

I really liked Crank. I swear it's just so torturous and sad but at the same time your still hoping that Kat gets her life together. It's a very addictive book. You just can't stop reading it until your finished. Gosh I can't wait 'till I get Glass.

Crank is beautifully written, I loved the free verse poem as every word seems to have been specifically chosen and placed to create meaning. It is so difficult to stop reading this book as it flows so effortlessly and is so compelling and gripping. I felt so emotional for Kristina and the things she goes through in order to get her fix, I sped through this book so quickly and I immediately wanted to read the next two books in the trilogy (instead I read Requiem for a Dream as I already had it on my Kindle, but it clearly deeply affected me to want to read more on the theme of addiction).

I just found this book so interesting and unique in the sense that you're reading from the perspective of a drug addict in this hauntingly beautiful style, it was really moving and captivating and I cannot fault it at all. In fact I've already added another series by her - Burned - to my TBR for when I've finished this one!

This book was upsetting to read as a 33 year old woman. I came so close to being like this. Just a few good decisions made here and there by people I love made me a into a solid person. Why do people make such dumbass decisions? Parents, I mean. I may be a cautious, paranoid person, but maybe it will help me down the road raising my own child.
