Talk show host Kathie Lee Gifford takes the reader along on a journey through the Holy Land. There is a lot of interesting and faith promoting background that gives insight into many scriptural stories. The book is very readable and offers the reader much to contemplate about both the Jewish and Christian faith traditions. All of the testimonials of trip participants at the end of my Kindle edition were somewhat tedious. Still I learned a lot by reading this book, and it is well-worth investing a couple of hours to learn much about Judeo-Christian and Biblical stories and traditions.

Really enjoyed this short book. Read it prior to an upcoming trip to Israel. I especially enjoyed the information from the Rabbi. It was another reminder to read the bible with more curiosity. I seem to have had that point shown to me quite a bit in the past few months. The connections between the Jewish festivals and the timing of Christ’s crucifixion as well as Pentecost are important things to know. I do not know why I have missed out learning these things through my time in Sunday school and church.

Rabbi Joseph’s commentary is an insightful interpretation of scripture.

This was fine, but I had personal stuff going on while my small group was doing the study version of this and I just didn't have time to get into it.

Heavy On The Rabbi

This was a good book

I found it pretty interesting to Read about the Jewish background behind Jesus

I did still find it was quite Jewish focused rather than Christianity but I still thought it was an interesting read

Kathy Lee is a very great author and very heartfelt

I listened to this one on audible and loved listening to Kathie Lee and the Rabbi. But this is one I might purchase as a book and go through it again one chapter a time with a highlighter. I learned so much and loved feeling Kathie Lee’s love for scripture and biblical knowledge and what it gives us as God’s children!

Very very interesting! I was truly enlightened as to Jewish background/custom as well as to biblical locations. It really makes a difference to understanding passages of the Bible. When this book was recommended to me I was skeptical since it was written by Kathy Lee Gifford, but it is biblically sound and it gave me a new respect for her.

My book review circle at church really enjoyed this book; as a matter of fact, another group is going to do a further study this summer. We were pleased that we chose this to read during Lent, as it felt even more meaningful (if possible). In addition, a local newscaster was in the Holy Land during the time we were reading the book, and I saw many of the same places on his Facebook page, several of them videos. Some of us wished that there had been a map in the book; I found myself consulting maps on my own several times. Kathie Lee did a great job of connecting the Old Testament to the New.

Some of the numerology part felt a bit much to me, but I realize that those doing in-depth studies can make more connections.
