Brilliant! Fascinating and funny. If you have any interest in the Greek myths, the modern novelized retellings (Circle, Ariadne, A Thousand Ships), or the application of feminine perspectives to scholarship of any kind you won't want to miss this.

I think I would really love to revisit this book in the future. I want to get a bit more accustomed and comfortable with the baseline greek myths and their stories before I dive deeper. That being said, I can already see the beauty in this text and I cannot wait to revisit it in the future with clear eyes and a higher educated mind.

Alt title: The Girl Bosses of Greek Mythology. In all seriousness, this was really fascinating and so well put together. Every story was incredibly interesting and I learnt so many nuances and new elements to myths I knew, and was then was educated on some I did not know. Despite some of the harrowing content, the humour and genuine passion in the author's voice made this a really easy read that I enjoyed picking up daily.

This was a fascinating insight into some of the most notorious women in Greek mythology. Haynes’ writing is engaging and witty, and I thoroughly enjoyed this book.

I loved learning new versions of famous women in greek myths and new women from myths I’ve never heard of. It was very interesting to see the changes made to these myths over time good and bad. These stories, especially Medusa’s story is still relevant to how women are in society today.
