it's a weird one to explain, because in a way it's set up like a romance and it sat nicely in that side of my reading love, however it isn't a romance at all. it's about a dragon who even though he has the body of an adult he is very clearly a child still and that's how everyone sees him, and how he sees the world. it's never once thought that the humans in the world see him as more then what he really is and it would be interesting to see if the author goes back to them later in the series, a flash forward to when he is that age (hell I'd read a book as those years pass, even in snippets). On this note, if you don't like reading from a child's mind, miss this one.
you don't have to read the first two books in the series to get this one, yes there are characters from those that is in this one (or I believe so) however I was never lost about the world or who the characters where, they didn't matter in a way that was more then what the book itself used them for.
