This book kept me interested enough to keep reading and find out the ending. There were several plots happening at once and the one I was most interested in, the serial killer, was left as almost an after thought. Parts were predictable, parts were ridiculous. There was spice, but I found myself being annoyed, like again? Really? Now?!? Will I read the rest in the series? Probably not.

First off I really love this cover. It's part sexy and part intriguing... Second I did not know going into this book that it was a spin off series for Rebecca Zanetti. Having said that after reading Deadly Silence I really want to read the first series of hers. This book had more suspense and action than most of the romantic suspense books I have read lately. I really enjoyed that it was a constant motion for these character and how they evolve throughout the book.

Let's start with Zara (really cool name)... she has been seeing Ryker for months now. By seeing I mean they don't have a relationship. He calls and she cooks him dinner and then they get some smexy times. Zara is a paralegal working for a prestigious firm. She met Ryker by work association he's a PI. Zara has recently gotten into a rotten situation trying to help a friend out. However her firm is representing the man that her friend is divorcing so it's a big no no for Zara to help her. Ryker decides to stick his nose in Zara's business and it leads to them becoming a little more than friends with benefits. I really liked Zara's character and how she stood up for herself most of the time. Especially in the action sequences. She has a really big heart and it shows throughout this book, especially when she takes on a motherly affection for a certain boy.

Ryker is definitely a complex character. While he obviously has the alpha man down and must protect everyone. He seems to show his vulnerable heart throughout the book. I loved the bond between him and his brothers. This book is set apart by the fact that Ryker seems to have some supernatural abilities. While he seems to try to keep Zara at arms length some situation call for a more up close relationship. He seems to balk at any intimate talk but it's okay for her to talk about herself.

I really enjoyed that the author put in towards the beginning that Ryker and Zara had a relationship beyond the first interaction you see. This book didn't have the insta love that happens in a ton of books. I also loved the fact that there was a lot of action in this book and it wasn't all suspense.

Thank you to Rebecca Zanetti and Forever Romance for this copy in lieu of my honest review.

I listened to the audio book. I switched over to the ebook because the narration did not hold my attention.

There was a lot going on. I don't know if I read this book before because I kept having a feeling of deja vu. First there was Ryker, Heath, and Denver's past with the attached mystery. Then there was Ryker and Zara's relationship. Next there was the search for the serial killer. Then Greg turns up. Then the manipulative woman, etc. Like I said, A LOT. I didn't even get into the twist that eventually popped up.

Given that there was so much going on, it was surprisingly easy to keep track of each subplot. I did wonder about Ryker and his need to dominate. I guess that was his interpretation of taking care of people he considered family, except when he was being dominant with Zara. That was more of an intimate nature.

There was a good amount of action, danger, suspense, and some violence ( after all, serial killer there ). Let me not forget the fair amount of heat Ryker and Zara generated.

I didn't feel like the story ended on a cliffhanger. I felt like some aspects of the story didn't end and will probably continue in a book for Heath and Denver.

I want to know the conclusion of the situation, but I haven't decided if I will continue. I know if it is the same narrator, I will definitely take a pass on the audio book. I will probably still continue with the ebook. I really need to know what happens.

For the first book a series, this is a good one. I just felt like it was about the romance between Ryker and Zara then about the murders. However, I liked Ryker and Zara, so I am not complaining. They had anything but a "casual" relationship. So glad they realized this and decided to make it permanent. Ryker's brothers, Heath and Denver were awesome as well. The witty banter between the brothers had me laughing and smiling. Due to the fact that I enjoyed all of the main characters in this book, it was very easy to read. The last half of the story is where I would say that it did pick up regarding the murders. However, the murders were not the intriguing part about the story but the backstory and someone from the guys past that had me wanting to read more. I do look forward to checking out the next book and getting to know Heath and Denver better as well as seeing Ryker and Zara again.

You know that I loved Rebecca Zanetti’s Sin Brothers series so I HAD to have the Blood Brothers series…I mean, I just had to. I need to know all that is going on in these boys’ lives.

Zanetti brought back the macho, protective, alpha male back with Ryker. Every turn he had his eye on Zara and would not let her out of his arm’s reach. His brotherly love for Denver and Heath was adorable and tightly bonded. Then to throw in Greg, his brothers, and the Sin Brothers (yes, they make an appearance!) made everything great. Not to mention that he was a complete badass throughout the book looking after all who mean something to him.

Zara was just perfect for Ryker on every level. She was cute, smart, and extremely brave. Her immediate protectiveness of Greg truly won me over. The one thing that was hard to handle was the constant danger that she was put in throughout the whole book. The poor girl would get saved to only be in trouble the next turn.

This book has some great action in it but also sets up some future great action. I am excited to see what the rest of the series will bring. Hopefully the demise of the doctor and Sheriff Cobb. They are the worst!

Deadly Silence was so much fun to read! Super hot, a bit intense, a bit of everything I love wrapped into one story. I can't wait to read more!

Ryker is a bit of a loner. He has his brothers, the family created when they were younger. The two people he knows he can trust with his life. He has a lot of secrets, he doesn't like to think about his past and what happened to all of them. Because man it is dark. And not good. But they survived as long as they can keep off of the radar of those who may be out to get them.

Zara is having an affair with Ryker, but she thinks it is just sex. Because she doesn't really know Ryker, and anyways he is a bit to dark and dangerous for her. Right? Only when she gets tied up with something that puts her in danger the two of them have to work closer together. And maybe there is something there after all.

I loved Ryker. He is one of those big, grumbly, silent, teddy bear type guys. My favorites. He would do anything for those he cares about. And he would do anything to keep Zara safe. He doesn't like talking about what he went through as a kid, but when his past comes into his present they all have to figure out what to do. Zara is right there for him and everyone helping out however she can. The two of them together were great. I loved this story, I love the thriller what is going to happen next suspenseful nature of it. I love the romance woven in there and watching these two fall for each other. Really I can't wait to move on to book two and see what happens next!
