I felt like if I said the 2005 Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite movies, I should read the dang book. And I started off not particularly liking it at first. I was reading it out of obligation and continued to drudge through the first 100 pages or so. But somewhere around 150 I was like huh this is actually pretty good if I pay attention. And after that, I suddenly realized why people like this book so much. The interactions made me cringe and made me emotionally react, and I never thought that a book that uses such formal language would do that- BUT IT DID! I read through the last 2/3 of this book in 2 days in comparison to the week that it took me to read the first 1/3. Great, I loved it, very good. Would recommend. I honestly want to reread the first 1/3 to see what I missed when I wasn't paying attention lol

The slowest slow burn to ever burn, and the humor still hits 200 years later. It deserves its recognition as one of the best novels of all time.

Book 79 of 2024: Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen

“It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune, must be in want of a wife.”
Mrs Bennet has one mission, to find her five daughters suitable husbands, much to Mr Bennet’s disdain.

⭐️ 5/5

A classic that truly stands the test of time! I can’t believe I’ve waited this long to read Pride and Prejudice. I fell in love with Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennet as characters. Elizabeth’s sass and wit amused me greatly and she is a powerhouse character that would be admired by modern day standards too! A fantastic story of prejudices, marriage and love.
