Needed better character development. Maybe I’ve just read too many excellent books on the same subject recently; but even amidst all the horror of the holocaust, this book just fell flat. The ending drug on for so long that I nearly lost interest.

Harrowing, but a fantastic read. One of the best books I have read in a long time.

Heartfelt storytelling at its finest

He creates characters and a story that make you actually feel for them and show a glimpse of the good that can always be found in the worst of places

This was an interesting read; I've never read a holocaust book from the perspective of an SS Officer. It gave me new insights.

Great book, not an easy read, gave me nightmares, but makes a fascinating story.

A page turner

This novel hits you right in your emotions. I highly recommend it, but make sure you set aside time to read it.

Flat characters and insipid dialogue. It was a chore to finish.
