Carina l'idea del cambio di scenario (St. Barths invece che Easton), ma qualcosa manca.. Originale almeno la scelta del "cattivo", che si distacca un po' dalla ripetizione dei libri precedenti.

I quite liked the additional characters who were introduced in this novel, as well as the old ones who made a reappearance. Drama, drama. Drama. Living for it.

Reed Brennan is a magnet for trouble. It seems that everywhere she goes murder and mayhem follow. After the revelation at Kiran's pre-birthday bash, the Billings girls decide that maybe they should leave Easton a little early for their holiday plans.

The Billings girls, along with Gage, Dash, and a few others head to St.Barth's for Christmas break. Reed is the only newcomer to the islands so the girls decide to introduce her to their favorite pastime, the Upton Game. Upton Giles is labeled the hottest man on the islands and the object of the game is to be the first girl to hook up with him. Reed decides that she is going to change her ways and forget about her past. She vows that she will stay out of the Upton Game and make her own fun, at least until she actually meets Upton.

Little does she know, Upton is somebody else's boyfriend or at least she thinks he is. Poppy Simon is not happy about Reed interfering with her plans and she makes it known. Loyalties are tested and friendships are broken all over one guy.

Also, Reed starts feeling a little paranoid. Everywhere she goes she seems to have some near death experience. And she doesn't think they are accidents. Reed can't help but feel like someone is following her and that whoever it is plans on taking Reed out of the Upton Game...for good.

I was actually a little bit disappointed at the end of this book. I love all the Privates books but it seems like Kate Brian is running out of ideas. The ending is definitely another cliff-hanger, though. I may have been disappointed but I still can't wait for S

Two things really stand out for me in Paradise Lost.

One- Reed no longer makes me want to whack my head against the nearest desk or wall. I don't know if she's finally maturing or if it's just something that happens once you take her out of the immediate setting of Easton, but whatever it is, I approve.

Two- The writing style is off and is only really noticable when certain phrases are spoken by characters who really, really wouldn't say them. I'm not entirely sure how to explain it other than to say it doesn't sound/read the same as the other Private novels. It's especially jarring as it only happens a couple of times during the whole book, but it lingers after you finish.

That said, I really liked PL. I love Noelle and if she's around I'm happy. I love that the book removes the characters from the suffocating location of Easton [and I love the boarding school angle, so don't get me wrong about that:] and that it actually feels like a vacation. Sure, Reed manages to rub people wrong and there's a little intrigue, but there's also a bit of breathing room from the mystery and tangled issues waiting back at home.

That said, Reed's mysterious stalker had better come into play sooner rather than later next go round.

Easy to pick up where I left off a couple years ago. I think the series lost a bit of its charm a while ago, but still decent.

Time for a change of scenery! We're off on a tropical vacay with Reed and co. who are recovering from the revelation of Cheyenne's murderer. Some new characters, a sexy boy toy, and a nice reprieve from the Billings drama.

I love the new cast of characters! The plot feels fresh and exciting again. Unfortunatley, I'm having trouble buying Reed's sway with the SEXIEST MAN ALIVE (or so he seems... I kind of like that he's university aged so I feel less creepy for finding him intriguing...). I mean, come on. Reed is alright but she's sort of weird.
