I thoroughly enjoyed Breathless for her Bear. Mallory moves to Cedarville for a new internship that she basically begged her new boss for. During the trip she stops at a restaurant and she saw Al for the first time, only her waitress calls him "My Al." This proclamation gets under Mal's skin and she runs out of the restaurant without paying. When she makes it to Cedarville she finds that her ass-hat ex has maxed out her credit card and cleaned out her bank account, but the owner of the B&B is nice enough to let her stay there, saying "Christine says you'll only be here for four days."

Mal is constantly confused and accuse everyone around her of speaking in code, except they're not telling her that they are shifters. Al and Mal have a hard time being away from each other and have a chemistry so strong it can only be the mate bond. After discovering what he ex Josh really is, the shifter council, who Al's grandmother is the head of, dishes out justice. Mallory's secrets are exposed as a result, ones she didn't know she had.

I enjoyed the characters and getting to know them, as I have not read the first book yet. This is a fun light read, with a strong female character who isn't afraid to go after what she wants. Definitely worth the read!

Malory has had it with her less-than-loving boyfriend. She has been working herself to the bone to keep them afloat, attend school and try and get her career off the ground. She may be 30 but she is way behind those in her class. She is making changes though. She has secured an internship with Luke Russell, tech guy extraordinaire and kicked her slimy boyfriend out of her life. But as she drives towards her new home, she stops off at a diner and her luck takes a turn for the worse..and the better!

She is instanlt drawn to the man mountain that is Al. She wants to climb him like a monkey- which is so not her! But when she makes a fool of herself and then runs off without paying her bill she sheepishly returns and finds he is as drawn to her! But when she makes it to Cedarville she finds Joshua, the asshat ex has wiped out her saving s and run up her credit cards. But the whole town seems intent on her getting together with Al and staying around!

When she learns that the "code" Al and the others talk about is actually shifter talk she is more in wonder than scared!

This was a really great story. it was quite sweet when the reader is in on the shifter storyline and poor Mal is wondering what is wrong with all these people doing nice things for her and talking about some psychic lady like she is the be-all-end-all!! Al is just such a big teddy bear (pun intended!!) and he just wants to keep Mal safe. Josh is a scheming slimebucket and I'm so glad that in the end his justice is meted out be the one he wronged - Mal herself!! Wonderfully witty, sweet and smexy all in one delicious package!
