this book is excellence. incredibly well researched, incredibly informative. Hernández put together a remarkable work that does so much more than retell history. Bad Mexicans intriguingly captures the viewpoint of every party in the fight for (and against) the revolution. Bad Mexicans should be a Times bestseller.

A wonderful comprehensive history of what and who worked the overthrow the Diaz regime and spur on the Mexican Revolution. It shows off how the events that transpired have continued to effect U.S. culture, society, and politics in a way that keeps the reader engaged. A must read to understand key players in both Mexican and U.S. History.

Most of the book takes place well before the actual revolution, showcasing the story of the PLM in a detailed but readable narrative. Hernandez clearly did meticulous research to compile the sources for this book, and that effort paid off.
