The only reason it took me so long to finish the book was its size. I don’t mind it being long, but it was too big to take it with me outside of the house.
Other than that the author managed to continue a captivating story with a very detailed history and an amazing world.

this was an absolutely beautiful story. the characters are very well rounded and in depth and the conflicts throughout the story are so in depth. the only reason this isn’t a five star (like i rated priory) is because there are SO many characters that sometimes i found myself forgetting which person i was even following or who they were interacting with. the connection to the characters wasn’t as deep as priory either because of it. but it was still a very very well written book. samantha shannon has such a beautiful way of writing that really sounds like poetry.

*if you read this just know it is very much a political fantasy so if you don’t enjoy those this isn’t for you

Good  riting and sprawling world and myth building, but strangely aloof characters. Also, not sure this needed to be this long of a book.
Nice themes about sisterhood and motherhood.
