The book was pretty boring with little development. Took a minute to get used to the metaphors. Random fairytales were difficult to buy into. I liked the short chapters, but the plot moved so incredibly slow. It was like watching a 15 minute summary of a person’s daily schedule for two weeks when all that person does every day is the same job over and over. This book relies on the ending to remain memorable.

Honestly I 100% despised how this book was written in a sort of poetic way, but at the end I completely understood why it was written that way. All of the plot twists I thought of was completely incorrect and I ended up loving this book.

this one just didn't draw me in. i didn't love the writing style. i didn't like the characters. didn't like the use of mummy. until maybe the last half of the book it was hard to be interested in what was happening. i don't feel like there was a ton of suspense or build up really.

somehow, i did not see the twist coming. it got a lot darker than expected. very sad about the dogs. and foolish kids i guess.

maybe i would have liked it more if i was a teen. meh.
