Thank you for the chance to read an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

What I liked:
Again, the autumn and cozy vibes similar to the first book were fun. It was reminiscent to The Vampire Diaries, of which I’m a big fan. Duhne, Azzy and Florence were my favorite characters.

What I disliked:
Maybe this book just wasn’t for me. It had some hades/persephone elements that needed a little more development and originality. I also feel like the character development needed more attention (they kind of read more like ya characters than adults their age), and the more serious conversations were sidestepped for uncomfortable/cringey dialogue and weirdly timed innuendos. Additionally, alpha-male elements can be fun, but it was emphasized in the wrong times and places, in my opinion, making those situations seem toxic and took away from character development and plot (primarily why I DNF-ed). Some of the best parts of the story were not taken advantage of and a little underdeveloped.

I really liked the first book, but the second seemed to lose its footing a bit and needed more consistency.

Once again I’m left needing the next book. Seriously y’all these books are so amazing. I adore Ellea and the entire magic system set up.
I’m over here waiting for Ros (and maybe Garm/Billy) to take me to Hel.
The relationships between the characters is full of great banter, emotion, and growth. Our main couple is actual goals and that spice level…
