An enemnies-to-friends-to-lovers rom-com set in partly in a reality dating show. I loved that Connor was the show's producer instead of one of the contestants. It made the book have more tension to it. I also liked that since Connor is a father, he was more hesitant to date, especially to have a casual relationship. The ending was perfection! The only part I didn't like was the lag/boring middle where the book just felt like it was filling pages. I also loved the jokes about romance books, the excellent defense about why reading romance isn't a guilty pleasure, and how Connor's perspective changed. Also, it had just enough spice! Almost a 5-star read but because I struggled with getting through the middle-near the end portion it's not quite 5 stars.

If you enjoyed The Soulmate Equation, I think you’ll enjoy this follow-up featuring Jess’s best friend Fizzy. I found this book to be so fun and heartwarming, and Fizzy might be my favorite CLo heroine. She was just such a delight and I was rooting for her to get anything and everything. Just a very good summer read and CLo really nailed the ending.

Boring.
Characters weren’t even compatible.
Fizzy is too vulgar and all she cared about so that she doesn’t feel sensual for a while; and Connor was an asshole from the beginning, he fetishised her and turned her down numerous times. He was didn’t care to read any of her works because they're not real books, or whatever, and they never go back to that point or the fact that he’s doing the show only because it’s beneficial for him.
The main thing that made this book so horrible is that all they cared about is to have sex.
Having read some reviews that rated it 1-2 stars, I jumped to chapters 36-8 and… wow… what a supportive friend is Jess. I liked her in ‘The Soulmate Equation’ but… wow… she completely disregarded Fizzy’s concerns and hurt by going like “we all make mistakes in our twenties”! Like who cares. She knew the impact Fizzy’s last relationship damaged her, because she found out that the guy she was dating was already married… so for her to disregard her like that. Once a cheater is always a cheater.
So an absolute waste of time.
