While this novel definitely fits the romance genre in its predictability, whiteness, and the improbable smoothness of even the most awkward characters, the characters are deftly shaded, the dialogue is engaging, and the lusty scenes steamy. The characters' choices, actions and growth are believable and their relationships appealingly human. I was enjoying myself the whole time, but especially during and after the engagement party toward the end. A fun read.
