This is a perfect book and I wept. Honestly, KJC is rarely a miss for me, and I delight in seeing all the ways she can set up an absurd betray-cute. Fortune hunter snares young, innocent miss and falls for her grumpy uncle instead?! Only KJC. I highlighted half of this (Robin and Marianne, siblings of my heart), and I'm so grateful I read A Thief in the Night first, because it made the second epilogue a real joy to read.

An absolute delight of a Regency romp with excellent banter. I just loved how Robin and Hart came to accept and love each other. If you like secretly soft characters who actually communicate with each other, this book has that in spades.

The charming scoundrel vs grumpy-bear gentleman is one of KJ Charles's favorite tropes and there's a reason for it.  I love how they walk through their vulnerabilities and talk to each other. Also the sex is super-hot. The sibling bond with Robin and Marianne is exceptional and a delight to read. Wonderfully flawed characters. I predicted the resolution but didn't know how we'd get there. The best sort of romance.

It's so unfair that I don't get a series of this pair when it's my favorite yet; I'm a sucker for grumpy/sunshine ship dynamics plus I loved all the characters so much. I wanted to reread the whole thing as soon as I finished it.
