If Only You

This was well written and a very lovely depiction of a slow-burn relationship developing between two people who are working/have done the work on themselves. Honestly, it was very good, but a little too good... The characters were too logical; their conversations oftentimes read to me like wish-fulfillment rather than realistic. It really took me out of the story, because I kept thinking: People do not really talk like this. People are not this logical and understanding. It would be great if people really were this mature and patient towards one another, but I have yet to meet such an individual. But that is just something personal, so this may work very well for others. I did really appreciate that this was such a healthy relationship. I was not annoyed at any point with a main character nor worried because of their behaviour towards the other. We need more healthy depictions like this in romance.

What can I say? I love Bergman family books. I’ve been waiting for Ziggy’s story and I was not disappointed. It was the slowest burn but given her and Seb’s premise of friendship I was okay with that! I also loved how involved Ren and Frankie were since Ren is bff’s with Seb, I’ve missed them

this hit but it didn’t?

this book is very enjoyable. i loved the characters. i love the genuine growth. i love how sebastian’s low self-esteem was dealt. i love their bond.

however. i feel like this bergman or whatever family is too perfect. you can tell the author tried to put in some ‘family drama’ but it was just bland. ziggy’s family is too perfect, almost like a bunch of mary sues. and im sorry. is this not a brother’s best friend book? where’s the angry, protective brother who threatens his bestie? why is ren so kind and accepting??? nuhuh. i get this is part of a series but still. this is totally unrealistic.

and let me say. the author tries wayyyyy too hard with the diversity. why is everyone in this family either autistic, gay, or with some kind of illness??????? y’all are gonna hate me for this complaint but god sometimes its TOO MUCH.

tbh this book is just pretty average. it could’ve done a lot more with the spicy scenes and the jealousy scenes and the angry brother scenes. a lot of wasted potential. but it was a good read. so 3.5

If you're looking for  fast and easy book to get out of a reading slump, this is it. Wholesome love story between a lady trying to find her voice and a man trying to find love and acceptance for himself. Its beautiful to see them work through their fears both separately and together and falling for each other in the process.
