I really enjoy Rev. Coles work in his main profession, so I was eager to try this book. It gets off to an incredibly slow start (about 100 pages go by before the murder mentioned in the title). If you love a small village novel and enjoy a lot of behind the scenes details about the work of a village rector, you will love this book. If you can get past the slow start, the pace improves considerably.
