2024- The back half of this book was infinitely worth slogging through the first half setup in Alon Rhist. There were spectacular moments in this book, several made me pause in awe for a variety of emotions. I do question some of the choices in character development, namely Persephone’s continued coldness towards Raithe and Nyphron’s decline into pomposity, but overall this was a well-worth it read with a masterpiece ending.

This book was really slow for the first half and really good for the second half. This is the halfway point of the series so we'll see if we can move things along now!

It was so heart shattering, full of shocking revelations and bitterest unfairness of an ending.

I am a bit conflicted about this one, because on the one hand I really enjoyed it, and I thought that the battle scenes were well executed, and I liked most of the characters, but on the other hand, there was one character (
and one pairing
) that I never cared about, and as such, I wasn't as emotionally impacted by certain scenes in this book as I was meant to be. That being said, I'm very excited to continue the series.
