I love that the narrator strongly commits to the bit here, and the world building is great. I was also impressed with the ethical standards at a school for murder—that made it easier to root for the killers in training. There were many interesting, cooky characters. Towards the end, though, I thought Doria’s approach relied on quite transphobic tropes, and it was upsetting that while they were all worried about bystanders, no one worried or cared about the queer man’s semen she took and planted at the crime scene. That was pretty fucked up. Otherwise, though, it was very fun.

This book is a fun, quirky ride with a whole lot of potential but doesn’t quite hit the mark in every way. The premise is super interesting. The writing has some sharp wit, and there are definitely moments where you can’t help but laugh out loud.
But, honestly, while the premise had me hooked from the start, the execution didn’t quite live up to what I expected. It felt a little uneven in parts, with the pacing dragging a bit in places where I was hoping for more action or twists. Some characters were super interesting, while others felt like they were there just to fill space (iykyk). If you like dark, dry humor, and want to read something for a refreshing change, try out this book. I thought there would be a book 2 for this but idk if that's still happening - either way, this is a self-contained story and (for now) a standalone book.

I really liked it and I think there was only one person in my book club that didn't like it at all. It was very innovative and different. Everything that happens during the middle of the book all comes full circle which can be a very hard thing to do considering that there are three different main characters.

I mention the descriptions about because one of the characters, Doria, experiences sexism/sexual harassments from her target and of course the name of the book isn't a hidden message. There is murder in the book. Also two of the characters commit suicide although the man who did (whose name slips from me) is revealed to do so later. You also will get to know who Cliff's sponsor is.
