Bluebeard's Bride is one of the most compelling, and interesting roleplaying games I have ever encountered. It can be remarkably powerful at exploring feminine horror and many related themes and realities. That said, the actual playing or leading of the game can be very challenging, in my opinion. The leader of the play has to on the spot invent rooms, horrors, and manage the engagement of the players. This can be a tall order for even an experienced GM. One cannot even fall back upon preparatory work because the players initiate which room they could be entering based on the description of a key.

Therefore, the Book of Rooms offers a real support to GMs running this game. It could be used as a tool during play, but I see it more as a support, something that a GM could refer to if they get stuck, or, read before a session to inspire ideas. The organization and consideration of the text offers a great deal to help guide thinking.

The art and text of the book is fantastic, though does not reach the same heights as the original. The mood and atmosphere conveyed in often just a few words or even the font says so much. I would definitely recommend it to fans of this game and those seeking to run it.
