3rd time reading and 2nd time doing the 12 weeks. I have been compiling this book and making notes to make it easy to access the information I need in the future.
It took me about a year reading this on and off! And am still not fully done with all the exercises! This helped me a lot along my journey. A year later I’m more confident and very happy on my creative journey.

This isn't just a book, it's an entire process that you need to be willing to engage in. There's a lot of wisdom and truth in this book, though at times, it is repetitive. She talks about your "artistic recovery," as we recover (or rediscover) our inner artists, and her language is very therapeutic at times.

Only made it through doing 10/12 weeks of the artists way. I quit so close to the end…But I read the last two chapters of the book tonight. This book/process made me think a lot (especially the morning pages when I was doing them consistently). There were lots of aha moments and I felt like some chapters seriously called me out. So overall positive experience.
But some of Julia Cameron’s writing was way too god focused for me. Especially because she said in the beginning that you didn’t have to believe in god if you’re reading the book but then references god a TON in every single chapter and kind of expects you to believe in god. So that was not my favorite, maybe I should have expected that. She was also kinda preachy, which I guess she needed to be since she’s trying to sell this artists way process to the readers.
