Didn't realise this book was aimed at 8-12 year olds but she also says it's good for everyone and I liked it.
I reckon I have a pinch of autism but I don't feel like labelling it will make any difference to my life I just related to a lot of what was said which was really interesting.
I found some of the tangents a little stressful to follow but that eased up later in the book or I got used to it.

This is the book I needed as a teen when I was feeling broken and defective, when in reality I was just a different sort of normal.  I have laughed and smiled throughout the book, it's been incredibly healing for my inner child.  Thank you Abigail for sharing your experience with the world.

"This is for the SOULS
Who never quite fit in,
The odd ones out,
The misfits--
Told to grow a thicker skin.

This is for the ones
Who feel ALIEN, weird, or wrong--
Like everybody knows The Rules,
While they're left to tag along."

If i had been diagnosed with when i was younger (9-15) this book would have been great!
I read this a year after my dx (19) and i still think its really good i just didn’t get too much out of it due to the fact i have already done a lot of research on autism and growing up undiagnosed.
As a first recourse for children or parents of children that are recently dxi think this would be a life saver!
It also would be a really beneficial read for those who have little to no eduction on autism.
Its relatable and incredibly easy to read (i got it done in one session). I love the cats throughout the book so bonus points for that :)
I think the author did really well with this book and its always great to hear about autism from those who are actually autistic!
